Family trip to the zoo
The kids have been beggin for months to go to the zoo. I seriously think they could go every single day and not get bored. SO off we went on Friday. It was tons of fun. The kids had a blast! Even Lillie was fascinated by everything.
This little bird is one of Cherry's favorites! He comes right up to the glass as if he can reach you.

Summer Time!!!
I am hoping I pass that gene to my kids. LOL
I don't care if it's 100 degrees I will still go outside and play.
We had a blast spending a few hours at the kids cousins' house. Playin in a little pool and slip n slidin. The kids were in heaven!
And while Cherry and Damon got burned, and I got an even WORSE farmers tan, Lillie hung out in the shade workin on her paleness and talkin to the birds in the tree!
Summer time indeed~

Crackin the whip! Consider this my verbal notice :)
What am I talking about?
My weight :(
That's right. My biggest struggle, my biggest fear and my biggest sore spot.
I was always the trim athletic figured girl. Until I got married and started having kids. And sure kids are some excuse. But really? No.
Not for me anyways.
The last 6 years of my life I have spent ballooning and struggling. Yes, I have had 3 beautiful babies and 4 miscarriages in 5 years. So I give myself some credit. My body has been through a ton!
But after seeing pictures of me from my grandma's funeral (bottom picture) I realized I look worse than I thought and I broke into tears. Sure at that time my baby was 7 weeks old. BUT, even at that I was already to my prepreggo weight and had been since the day i left the hospital. (I only gained 13lbs). So that just shows you how over weight I was to begin with. :/
But I know, that if I can get my butt in gear and reach my goals I will be a better mom, wife, sister, friend.. and just feel so much happier. I will tell you honestly, I don't get depressed. I am a pretty happy go lucky gal who takes things in stride as they come along. But my weight is one thing that does get me depressed.
I know I can do this! Last year my sis in law was getting married and I was so determined to not be a size 16 at her wedding! And guess what- with 2-3 workouts a day and eating good I lost 25lbs in 3 1/2 months. I was almost into a comfortable size 12!
Now I am the same weight as then, but a super tight size 12 :) but things look a LOT different from my last pregnancy. Ewwww.
So here I am, publicly admitting to all of you how much I hate my body.
And making my words into writing that by December this year- that is 6 months from now- I will have lost the 30 lbs I need to lose.
So you will see me posting about my progressions, my falls, my frustrations and my triumphs. Feel free to skip these posts! LOL
But maybe with a little extra pressure I can get there faster. I am going to make myself take monthly pictures so I can see the changes. I am keeping a food journal and I am working out EVERYDAY! (ok, at least 6 days a week).
Feel free to leave me advice and tips and what has worked for you!
Ok, enough ranting. Just so we are up to speed, I started this serious calorie counting, working out plan Monday.
And if you seriously read all of this. You are awesome! Thanks for listening to my whining!

Finally!
I admit it. I am a month late on taking her blessing picts! But since the weekend weather was nothing but clouds and rain I decided I no longer had an excuse.
And I realize you are all robably so sick of seeing Lillie plastered all over here ;P
So I promise to come up with something new this week! Stay tuned....

I am in SO much trouble!
She is my sweetness. I can't even begin to describe what an angel baby my Lillie is. She is a complete mommas girl and I am loving it. She is so snuggly and cuddly!
Even when she will give me that smart face (see her practicing already!) how can I get mad?
Oh my goodness I am so in love with my beautiful babies! All of them have this effect on me! But especially when they are so tiny and sweet.

Best Friends from the start
I had so much fun catching up with you and getting to see you again! I can't believe we see so little of eachother! Funny how a 2 hour drive brings such separation.
Your baby Ella is just as beautiful as can be! She was so fun to take pictures of! And so were you! You photogenic hot mamma!
For those who don't know about me and Shelly- we met back in 2001? While performing in this embarrassing little off broadway show - but we became fast best friends and have been ever since!
We both have 3 kids. Our middle boys are 2 months apart and our new baby girls are only 2 weeks apart!
Luv ya Shells!

Last week I had so much fun shooting an old piano student. It's amazing how much time has passed and how much my students from that area have changed. But especially Ali. She is graduating this month!!! I can't believe it! She has grown into such a beautiful woman. She still makes me laugh like the old days. I sure have missed her and her mom and her brother and her dad! (I love their family!) Thanks Ali for letting me spend the evening with you! I had so much fun! Our Little Man turns 3!
Damon is officially a 3 year old!
I can't believe how much time has passed since this little guy was in my belly and even just a tiny snuggle buggle!
Gone are those sweet, quiet, peaceful days. Here are the mischievious, trouble making, and yet still so sweet days!
I had to take him to do his favorite thing in the world! Dinosaurs and Sharks!!!
I had to change my plans when I found out our pass expired that day. So this was probably the last time for a long time.
But D and Cherry had soo much fun!

My Tiny Isn't So Tiny

I still have a hard time believing, let alone accepting the fact that our little Lillie is already 3 months old! She has changed so much even just in the last month! Once we got all her allergies and digestive problems figured out it has been nothing but a happy and funny baby! Her personality is really starting to shine and I am so in love with her!
She is blowing raspberries, and cooing, and drooling and blowing spit bubbles. She smiles all the time! Yesterday she laughed for the very first time and it scared her! It was the funniest thing ever!
She is even on the verge of rolling over!
Her current stats:
Height: slightly over 23 inches- 75th %tile
Weight: 11 lbs 3 oz- 50th %tile

A Beautiful Blessing

First, I have to just say how proud I am of James. He is such a devoted and loving husband and father. I know he likes to think of himself as the "tough guy". But his sensitivity is what I love most. He has such a sweet soul and such a soft disposition. He just melted my heart all over again. Watching him as he held his baby girl all dressed in white. And the proud Father he is. He gave such a beautiful blessing to her I will never forget. He and I both cried. I am so grateful for all our family and friends that were able to come and share in this moment with us. I am so grateful for our gospel and knowing that I will always have my beautiful family.
Lillie was an absolute angel despite me forgetting her binky and her being sooo very tired. And she looked so beautiful too.
Our pictures didn't turn out but here are some of what I have. hopefully I can save a few more or "retake" them :) My poor family is picture abused!
I saw these little pink satin ballet shoes and had to get them!

Happy Easter!
I will admitt, I wasn't very excited for the typical "easter" festivities this year. We are going on our 3rd week of some crazy sickness that all three kids have. And I mean it is HORRIBLE! Stuff coming out both ends, a nasty barky, juicy whoppy cough that sends them into a frenzy and they puke! I am getting sick too. So between no sleep and being sick I was- AM - beat. I can't recall ever being so tired in my life!
Even Easter Sunday morning I was so tired and thought- the kids will never know- let's just stay home so I can take a nap while James watches the kids :)
But I manned up. We didn't get our church in sadly because of being so sick. But we had our own special family time.
Then it was off to James' family for dinner and an egg hunt. The kids had so much fun! And were so cute looking for eggs as fast as they could. They got to play with their 2 little cousins they don't get to see very often. Nya and Bella. And they sure had fun! They ask all the time to play with them :)
So here are picts of our festivites. And the gorgeous day it turned out to be.
Can you believe she is already 2 months old!!!!
Lils is 23 inches and 10 lbs 6 oz!
I may actually get the chubby baby I've always wanted! Yeah! Wait till you see her little rolling thighs!

The hardest part is letting go
Grandma Elsie's funeral was absolutely beautiful. It was peaceful and serene. yes sad too. I still haven't said goodbye and I won't. I don't say goodbyes. I say see you soon.
I loved having our family together again. It was so good to see my brothers I haven't seen in over a year! And all of our extended family too. It amazes me how close we all really are. Even after years of not seeing eachother things haven't changed. It is a beautiful thing.
So Thank You Grandma for bringing us all together again. I love you so so much. I miss you terribly. But I look forward to seeing you again.
Doesn't she look so beautiful and peaceful? I think so.
Missing just 1 brother here. Kelsey we missed you! Send me a picture and I will add you! There is a hole there for you ;)
Cherish Elsie, me and Grandma Elsie. This picture is priceless.
I have to share this little story. Cherry is old enough that she somewhat understands death. We lost James Grandma last year too. So I took her up to where grandma was laying and explained to her all about how when we get old our bodies get tired and Heaven;y Father brings us back to be with him so we won't hurt anymore. Cherish said "ok" and was fine the day of the viewing. She did good through the funeral services the next day too. But when we were ioutside as they brought the casket out to the hertz (sp?) she looked at me panicked and said "where's grandma going? She going to wake up now?" So I had to tell her No, Grandma is going to sleep for forever now. That her body is going to be buried and her spirit is here with us now. She lost it. She started crying and kept asking to go with grandma Elsie. It tore my heart! I didn't know what else to say so I just cried. We got through it though.
Our first day home I was in her room cleaning her toys. She brings me a play phone and says "Mommy it's Grandma Elsie" I was totally taken by surprise and I got that ache in my heart remembering again that she is gone. So I said "what?' She said again, "Mommy Grandma Elsie is on the phone. Say Hi." So I took the phone and fought back the tears, "Hi Grandma Elsie". Cherry took on Grandma's part "Hi Hollie." I said "I miss you Grandma". Cherry said " I am ok now."
I got chills and cried.
Makes me wonder, was it Cherish's innocence in understanding my worries and my fears? Or was it my Grandma telling me she is ok now through my daughter. Either way I am at peace and that is a moment I can never explain fully how it made me feel.

Saying GoodBye
It has come to that day that I never wanted to face but always knew I would have to. Saying goodbye to my favorite grandma. It is so much harder than I ever imagined it would be. Despite knowing how old she was and how much pain she was in and how miserable she was living, I still don't want to say it. And I am not ready for it.
I won't say goodbye to my Grandma Elsie. I will just say " See you soon. I love you so very much. I miss you so deeply already my heart is aching. I am so blessed to have had you for my grandma. And so grateful my daughter Cherish Elsie will carry your name for forever. You will always be a part of us. In spirit and in name."
My fondest childhood memories come from time spent in Nebraska with them. The horse wagon rides, the venison stew she made me sit there for 3 hours staring at because I wouldn't eat it.. The threats with the wooden "spoon" on the wall that had holes drilled in it. The sleepovers at her house. The smell her home always had. Sitting and talking to her for long times. Listening to her stories of my mom. Trips to Utah with them. Hooking my granpa's finger when he was baiting my fish hook :) Her cooking. Going through her photoalbums with priceless aged pictures. Family Christmases and Thanksgivings with more family than you can even dream of.
I guess when I think of her that is exactly what she reminds me of in one word. FAMILY. It was always a family gathering. And always a good time. She was an amazing grandma. And as such I know she was an amazing mother, sister, daughter and friend.
So we head out tomorrow on our long drive to Nebraska where all these memories are. I can not wait to see all of our family again. It has been too long. I am excited for that. I am terrified of so many things too. Seeing my mom and her siblings say goodbye to their mom. It is going to kill me. Seeing my granpda all alone with out her. It is going to break my soul. Having Cherish say goodbye knowing she doesn't fully understand. but she knows she is with jesus and she is happy.
I am going to be strong. I need to be for my mom and for my kids. I will take pictures or I know I will regret it.
I need to go clean my house and finish laundry and get things ready to go but I have no energy. But it felt good to get this out and off my chest. If you have read this whole thing... wow :)
And yes the last picture is of me as a baby :D

So glad we took advantage of the gorgeous 70 degree weather last week and went to Heber for the day with Grandma.
peaceful beautiful scenery and always something fun to do.
Grandma even taught Cherish how to do the big girl swing all by herself!
All this while Little Lillie slept :)

Catching Up
Well, since this last couple of weeks has been filled with one sickness after another I thought I would catch up. Not only do the 2 older kids and I have sinus infections and Cherry with Strep. But Lillie has become cholicky on top of her reflux. I spend every night from about 8pm to 1 or 2 am standing and bouncing and rocking her and nursing her. I got a breast infection that got so bad I passed out in the kitchen yesterday and woke to Cherry shaking me. It was a very scary moment being alone and having that happen. So I grabbed the 3 kids and went to the doctors. Who wanted me to go to the ER, but I refused. So after rehydrating and getting tons of meds I went home. I am feeling a little better today but still pretty out of it. It amazes me how these things just creep up on me. I just get so busy with life I forget to take care of myself that way i guess.
James is super stressed with work. He works so much and we hardly ever see him. It is hard but it is needed. We try to make sure he knows how grateful we are for him and that he is so willing to work so hard for us. I love when he comes home and the kids get so excited, even though it's 9 o'clock! And the way his face lights up when he sees them. And the love he has for them and our new Lillie. He just loves to see her when he gets home. I can't imagine only seeing my babies wehn I say goodbye at 5am and to say goodnight at 9pm. For 5 days straight!
So I try to do all I can to give him less to stress out about when he comes home. Spending almost $400 in 3 days between doctors visits and rx's doesn't help! My good home cooking will fix that right? :D LOL! I think I have been doing a good job of balancing being mom and cleaning and all that goes with it. There are definite rooms for improvement but I am working hard!
So anyways... Life is definitely flying too fast. At least for me. But in some ways I guess that is good.
here is my catching up:
I don't take my heavy duty camera everywhere with me. And there are times I really wish I had just a nice hand held for quick picts, but I don't think I would be happy with the turn out. So I end up using my camera phone! And I finally figured out how to get the pictures off of it. So here is a long list of catching up on past events and random things.
Enjoy!

This was during Christmas time when I was having pregnancy complications and was supposed to be on bed rest (what a laugh!)
I left the kids alone for literally 3 minutes and came back to find an entire brand new bottle of powder dumped ALL over the living room. It literally looked like smoke in the air it was so thick! I cleaned powder for days.

I have a really hard time not being able to be there when I know they are going through something like a surgery. This isn't his first time but I was still emotional and scared. Thankfully my awesome mother in law came with me. I was 34 weeks pregnant and on bed rest and not supposed to lift anything (yeah right). She was a fantastic helper and if it wasn't for her I think i would have gone crazy during the 2 hours of waiting. She took me to lunch and we talked a lot.
I teared up when they brought me back to see him. He was so out of it and his little nose was crusted in blood. Then he started to really wake up from the anethesia and he just cried and it made my heart ache.
It took a day or two before he actually snapped out of the anesthesia. And when he did he was pretty funny. PLaying with his new dinosaur and watching movies.
