VEGAS!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is why Halloween was crazy! That morning I found out my brother was going to be in Vegas at the air force base there. I have not seen him in close to 3 years! He is stationed in Japan with his little family who I miss terribly too! So my mom my lil sis and i decided to make a quick trip down to see him. We left the next morning. So it was, hurry and clean the house and pack, do trick or treating, finish things up after Halloween and head out early!
It was SOoOOOoo good to see him! He hasnt changed much. Ok, maybe a little thinning hair. JK Kels!!!

So Cherry turned 5! And we had a wonderful birthday!
Her Grandma Hanson took her to Build A Bear where she had a blast! She has never been. She picked out a pink unicorn (shocking I know! ;P ) and stuffed it, bathed it, dressed it and named it Cally. Cally has not left her side since then!

And since Daddy works nights now we did our family celebration earlier than normal. (Cake before lunch!) hee hee













And later the kids and I did our tradition of painting pumpkins!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHERISH!

It's hard to believe my baby girl is 5 today! ok, not so hard ;)

What a wonderful 5 yrs it has been!

I still remember like it happened yesterday, after a year of trying to get pregnant finally finding out we had a keeper, and going to James work with a bag full of baby goodies and balloons to tell him the good news.
Then finding out we were expecting a girl (which I knew all along). And knowing that I wanted my girl to be named after my favorite Grandma Elsie. Then on a car drive looking through a baby name book and coming across Cherish. Cherish Elsie. So appropriate and so beautiful. Cherish it was.
Due on Halloween. Came on October 28th! at 10:31pm. Weighing 7lbs 9 oz. 19inches long.


Cherry you are so beautiful. I hope you know how much your presence in our family means to us. You are such a sweet girl with just the right amount of attitude(which mommy and daddy LOVE!) You are strong, and creative. Always coming up with artsy things to do. Saying the funniest things.You are such a joy! We love you so so much!

Survival

Has it seriously been 6 days since my last post? Cuz it feels a LOT longer!

These last few weeks have just been crazy! Lillie has been suffering from chronic ear infections for the last 6 months, and finally 2 weeks ago we got her tubes in! Yeah! After 24 hours of her not feeling well following the surgery, Damon got sick out of no where and spent 6 hours throwing up literally every 5 minutes! I have never seen anything like it in my life! It took 24 hours to pass and then we had one good day before Cherish came down with it. The poor girl took it harder. It took 2 days of puking and something else I won't mention ;) before she started to perk up. Then guess what? Yep, poor tiny Lillie got it worse! 2 days of cranky fevers and chills and day 3 the puking began. In the car on our way to Provo. I had to pull over a few times because these d@#& car seats don't let them lean forward enough so she is gagging and choking on i and can't breathe. I finally just got her out and had my mom hold her the rest of the way home. Then I got it. Somehow I managed to never ralph, but I did spend 2 days feeling like my bed and pillow were stabbing me to death! Of course James, mister immune to everything was fine. Until Monday! mwahahaha ( Iknow, how mean am I?!) :D

So as you can see, insanity for the last 2 weeks. But I have to say I survived! And I won't lie, this was the first time in my 5 years as a mom that I have been so tried and tested with patience and handling the fatigue. But I made it. So bring on the next conquest!

Funny Side Story: So in the midst of Cherry coming down with the flu. I completely forgot about a brand new voice student I had coming over. Until I heard the door knock. So I opened the door and apologized like crazy and wouldn't even let them in due to my germ phobia. In the background behind me picture this : the sound of Cherry in the bathroom puking and crying, Lillie on the living room floor screaming and Damon bouncing off the walls. ( I look sane huh?!) They leave and I get everyone settled down. I walk past a mirror and do a double take. Ya, um I had grabbed one of Cherry's hot pink fluffy bowed headbands to hold my hair back while I helped her puke in the toilet. REALLY? really.
Couldn't help but laugh and think "yep, it's a mom day!"

Making the most of what warm days are left

I know it's pathetic, but I realize I only have a few days left of nice weather to take my kids picts together! Ahh! Seriously, where did summer go???? It takes a few sessions for me to get what I want. There is just something about being a photographer that your kids look at the camera more as an accessory mom always has, rather than something they are supposed to smile and act super cute for!
But, I must say, this is the best my kids have ever done! All 3 of them were angels. And I got some fabulous shots! I am still going to attempt some more this week before the next slew of cold air comes in. But if I don't get it done, it's a-o-tay!

I did it. Finally

Ya know, once upon a few months ago I was AWESOME at keeping the blog constantly updated and digi pages flowing. I don't know what has happened. Ok, I do, my tiny girl has been fighting sickies off and on for the last 4 months!
Do you ever notice that when you don't do something for a while you really miss it?
So I made myself sit down after my Christmas Fireside practice and scrap 1 page. And I must say, I am quite proud of it! I put my heart into it. I need to keep this up!



Random thought: Is it just me or are you getting hardly any comments on your blogs anymore? I get almost non when I used to get tons! Sheesh! DO you all hate me that much? Or is it because of facebook???? That is what I think it is! LOL

Fall Photo of The Day/Week

I have come to a conclusion that I need to challenge myself. So to do so I have decided I need to take more pictures (hush! I know what you are thinking!) I want to learn and try new techniques and things. So I am at least going to do a photo of the week. I'd like to do everyday, but lets be real, I have 3 tiny kids who demand every waking moment of my attention :)
But we shall see, at least once a week though!
So for my first post, I give you ORANGE. My favorite color! Which is why I love fall! These berries were so perfect! For this shot I was working on my Bokeh- the strong detail and the almost prism like effect in the background.

Tracy Aviary

Don't you just love free! We do!!

This weekend was free entry to the Tracy Aviary. And seeing as I and the kids had never been, we decided it was a must. After a week(ok, let's be honest, the last month!) of sick kids and sick mommy we just needed to get out of the house in a trip that didn't involve the doctors office or a pharmacy.



It was so much fun! Nothing like what I was expecting.












The kids were totally enthralled by all the kinds of birds. Cherry's favorites were the "pink lamingos"



Damons favorite was the owl with the cool eyes :)



James and I were in awe over the injured golden and bald eagles. The only thing around them was a chain link fence- nothing over head! Obviously because their injuries prevented flying :) They are just so majestic and breath taking!





These little guys were so adorable. They reminded me of my kids. They mostly stayed on the ground chasing each other and making these cute little squaks. I loved it!





Lillie was a little loopy from her meds, but she still seemed to enjoy being in the outdoors again.

Faaalllll!!!!!!!!!!

I am starting to finally get excited for fall!!!! I wasn't, and am still not quite all the way there. I had things planned ya know. Like losing 20 lbs by fall. Ya, umm, not even close. And then another 20 by Christmas... well that is out the door.
I wanted to get Lillie's rag quilt made by fall- umm, that's still in a bag not even cut out.
But, I do have fall clothes for the kids! And I pulled out my sweaters I can hide behind. So ready or not, it seems to be approaching so I have to get excited!
What brought this post on? I went running this morning. Thinking it would be chilly I donned on my hoodie and died at the heat. Looked at the weather report when I got back and tomorrow... are you kidding me!?!?!?!
So are you ready for fall?
Fall= Cherry's Bday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, .. and we all know what comes next.
Man it is a busy season!!!

Eastern Idaho State Fair

After a rough month we decided we needed a weekend getaway. So we packed up and headed to Blackfoot Idaho for the State Fair.

It really was so much fun. And exhausting :)

We splurged on fair food which we have never done. My favorite was the chocolate dipped cheesecake. mmmmmmm

The humungous Turkey leg was a bit much for me. Just the smell made me gag. ewwww

The kids got to ride roller coasters (kiddie ones) and had fun seeing all the animals. Although for some weird mood, Damon was afraid of everything until about 3 hours later and then he decided he liked them.

And I swear she is part puppy! Aside from the panting like crazy when she sees food! She now has a new trick of putting things - especially rings, in her mouth and letting go and giggling like crazy. So proud of herself!

Also, back in August I got to meet up with another best friend of mine! She lives in Manti so we don't get to see much of eachother :( We had our baby girls just 2 weeks apart! And already we can see them being the best of friends! I mean just look! Ella stole Lillie's binky, and Lillie kicked her in the face! But really they had a great time!

Yes, this is a little old. This is what I get for letting myself get behind! Back in August we got to take a trip to Idaho to take some Senior picts for a cousin. We had a blast! I didn't take many pictures other than her senior shots, but the kids had a blast jumping on Uncle Paullys and Aunt Dianas tramp! So I got under to peek :)
Then we took a slight side trip on our way out to go see my best friend from clear back in GA. It was so so good to see Mary and laugh! We both are married with 3 kids now. And while we may have grown up a little we still know how to find our true inner goofy! Love ya Mary!

Congrats Tami & Jason!

You have no idea how happy I am for our dearest friends right now! I feel like I just watched a sibling! I am so happy and excited to see these two finally as parents. They are the one's you watch with your own kids and you know they are just meant to be parents. And the day finally came!
They were blessed with a GORGEOUS little princess Sunday. Weighing in at 9lbs 5 oz!!!! Tami gave an amazing birth (like she would do anything other being a labor and delivery nurse :) ) Jason was absolutely adorable to watch with his baby girl. I can see she has already melted his heart and he is going to spoil her rotten :) hee hee
Congrats Tami and Jason! We could not be any happier for you. Your daughter is as gorgeous as the two of you! We are so excited for this new journey you are taking in your lives! We love you so much!!!

Happy 30th Birthday!!!!!

Well, it is finally here! The hubby is officially 30! Happy Birthday to my handsome and perfect hubby! I can not say enough good things about this man that my life depends on. Over 8 years ago he walked into my life and I was hooked. I could not ask for better. He is the sweetest man, the most sincere, sensitive and loving. He works so unbelievably hard to provide for our beautiful little family. Anything it takes he will do. And it has not been easy.

I have so many favorite moments with him. Our blind date, just hanging out and talking, the proposal, the wedding, the vegas trip, our little trips to Idaho, watching him as we had our babies, watching him with our kids, holding hands and kissing still gives me those butterflies. :)

Everything with you James is just perfect. I love you more than life itself. I love every minute I have with you. I can not wait to have another 50 birthdays with you! (at least)!

Poor Lil Man

I am starting to realize how much my poor little D needs a brother. All the boy cousins his age live far away so he spends his time with the ladies. Which someday he will LOVE ;)
The poor guy is out numbered everywhere we go!
This particular day was when we went to some friends. Who also have 2 girls and have a tiny baby boy. All the girls were playing dress up in princess costumes and Damon wanted to too! So he picked out tinker bell and I put it on him. He was happy until Paul tried to take his picture. I think something clicked at that moment that made him think, uh oh, maybe this isn't so great. hee hee
But this picture just makes me laugh!!!!

All is Well again!

Yeah!! Milk supply is back with a force! I tried to give Lillie formula and she just cried at me and it broke my heart. So I quit trying. Instead I pumped every time she nursed and my milk supply is completely back with a vengeance! Can you say overflowing? LOL

I have got quite the supply building up in my freezer. And guess what else? I took the poor girl in yesterday for her ear infections. And she has gained her pound back and a few ounces! She is now 14lbs 4 oz :) Happy healthy baby girl!!

Fun night out at the Bee's game!

We were given tickets from James' work to hit up a Bee's game last week. We were 4th row behind home plate! It was awesome! I really wasn't in a good mood and kept telling myself we'll be lucky if the 3 kids last an hour! Umm, we stayed till the very end! The kids had so much fun. Even Lillie managed to go almost 3x as long as her norm without eating and she didn't sleep for like 7 hours! And she was so good!
Damon didn't care too much for the lound cheering. But he sure had fun finding the Bee mascot everywhere. And cherry loved "whistling" and cheering with everyone else. Even when it was for the other team ;)
Tami and Jason came too. And Stu brought their adorable boy MaCrae.
It all ended with a fantastic fireworks show which the kids LOVED!

It's a sad day for me :(

I have been struggling so much lately with my milk supply. And there has always been this thought in the back of my mind for the last few months that she just isn't getting enough. I've even done the Rx twice already to get it back. But everytime I start working out it goes away again. And I drink TONS of H20 and I eat way healthy too! She nurses every hour and a half at 6 months!

Which I honestly don't mind. Nursing is one of my favorite things about having babies! It is my mommy baby bonding time. There is just something so special about that time with my babies. The cute little faces they make up at me. Or when they smile while nursing and milk runs all over :) I love it! The smell, the cuddling- everything about it!

So when I made her go twice as long as her normal feeding time today and I pumped both sides I got a whopping ounce and a half! WTH!? She was weighed and has lost over a lb in 2 weeks! So I decided I need to start supplementing with formula. The up and down is too hard for her, and me. I am so praying this is temporary. That I can keep pumping and mixing the formula and breast milk and that my supply will increase. So I can go back to complete nursing.

Augh! It is so frustrating for me. I don't like not nursing my babies.

I know I totally just went off in a rant. Thanks for listening to me vent :) I know it's not that big of a deal and it isn't the end of the world. But it feels like it to me!

Hopefully this too shall pass. And sooner than later!

The county Fair

I think I have to admit I am easily amused. Maybe it's because I don't get out much? Or maybe it's because the smallest things bring me joy? :D Either way, we decided last minute to hit the county fair Saturday. It was small, but still so much fun. We spent nothing, just walked around and looked at things. The kids had a blast.
My favorite was this baby camel! OMG I want one!!!!!




Damon was absolutely head over these tortoises! He got to touch their heads and legs and everything! And Cherry loved getting mauled by these two goats. The baby is adorable! They almost knocked her over :)

This has to have been the best baby shower ever!!!!!!!!! My best friend Tami is expecting her first baby at the end of this month and I am so excited for her and her hubby!!! She's already had several showers so we decided to just get a close little group of us girlfriends together to celebrate. Everyone helped me so much! We made a lovely little Italian dinner and just hung out! It was awesome! There were tears, there was laughter, and secrets our hubby's will NEVER know! :)
I had waaay to much fun planning and creating for this event. I made some antique distressed frames and put her maternity pictures I took in them. And a sign that said Thank Heaven for Little Girls. Some little flower centerpieces. All things made to match her baby's room. Pink and brown! I love it!

I love my job! Cute Little Kambri turned one last month and I got to take her pictures! Her tutu was soooo cute! Sure, she did not want to look at me, and she was just learning to stand on her own, but she still was a gorgeous subject!

Tibble Fork

A couple weeks back I decided last minute to take the kids up to the lake to play and get wet. Of course I had alterior motives! I wanted to get some good picts to update my walls, but that didn't go so well. Sun was a little too bright. Still, they make for good scrapping! :) The funny faces these kids make now a days just cracks me up! They have definitely inherited their daddy's cheeser smiles!
But we got some great shots of Kambri! And the cousins all had tons of fun playing together!

An afternoon away from heat

It's been getting pretty dang hot out here. And I hate gonig outside in it, but the kids love it. And since we are apartment dwellers the porch just doesn't cut it! So we ventured up butterfield canyon and I found a great spot for them to play in the stream coming down from the mountains. It was gorgeous and cool-ish and so much fun!

Lillie 6 months

Her stats:
13lbs 14oz- 10th percentile (normal for our teeny girls)
25 1/4 inches- 45th percentile (again, our normal)
So it seems she is following in the path of her big sisters footsteps. Going to be a petite lil angel!

Drools- CONSTANTLY (and no it is NOT teething :) )
Talks, gurgles and growls all the time
Wakes up smiling
Laughs when she farts
Laughs anytime Daddy is near

Picks up EVERYTHING and chews on it

I pulled out Cherish's 5 1/2 month picts a few weeks back and just about died at how much Lillie and her look alike. So today I finally got around to trying to imitate Lillie in the same outfit! I can't believe how much these beautiful girls look alike! And I love it! The only difference to my eyes is the eyebrows and mouth :) Lillie's haor would even be the same if I hadn't cut it already. hee hee And Lillie is going blonde (unseen here due to the mass amounts of gel to hold it down!)

Keepin it Real

Alright! I admit it! Life has caught up with me and I am behind on my blogging! There, I said it out loud **whew**. Feelin better already!

I still say for me adding this 3rd kid really hasn't been all that changing, and it hasn't. Other than I have learned to trip Damon with my foot when he runs off and I am out of hands. Just so I can catch up to him! And that it takes me now 2 hours to get myself and all 3 kids ready to go anywhere- give me some credit, that's 3 hair do's 2 full mouths of teeth to brush, 3 outfits, 1 pull up and 1 in diapers :) Packing a diaper bag to keep the ornery toddler busy during a 2 hour grocery trip. and so on. I've leanred that the 3rd tie around things are so much more relaxing and easier that I enjoy the baby time so much more, and believe me I did before. But now it's almost like I realize all the little things I didn't sit back and enjoy while I could have with the other two.
I've been busy working with Cherry on schooling. I am pretty darn proud that my not even 5 yr old can say, write and give the sound for every letter in the alphabet. She can spell and write all of our names. Hopefully I will have her in preschool this year!
Damon and I have been on a war path with the potty training :) actyally, for a boy I think he is doing quite well. We only have issues with the pooping :) I am just determined he will have it down by the end of summer. He is busy all the time counting and drawing and building train tracks.
Lillie is approaching 6 months! I know, how on earth did that happen!?!?

She is just so stinkin fun I can't get enough of her and if I could I would already be tryin to get the next one here. But luckily for Jsmes I can't ;P

On top of these 3 I have been doing a little photography, I wish it was more. Someday I will put the money and time into all out advertising. And then thtere's my teaching. Yep, I started back up teaching voice and piano. It really is fun and I love it. I have an even mix this time around between adults and kids. It is time consuming and it definitely has not been easy with the 3 munchkins. Especially Damon who has A VERY hard time letting mommy teach other kids. So he is a work in progress but slowly getting better.
And I have become obssesed with exercising. 2x a day! I am so bitter when I don't get both workouts in. It's still a fight to lose the lbs but the inches are difinitely melting away- FINALLY!
Admissions:
*My kids are lucky to get bathed every other day (we live in an apartment, they don't get out and dirty much)
*Somedays it is so late by the time I get around to showering that I just don't even bother
*There are days, that I do nothing but take care of kids, feeding, changing etc and I play on the computer (editing pictures of course!)
*I am a little too obsessed with keeping my house clean and organized. I'm sorry but my kids toys have to put away a certain way and in certain boxes. ;)
*I will put all 3 kids in front of the tv in my room just so I can get my exercise in for the day.
*I will let them stay up till 10 or later at night just because I know they will sleep in longer and I am still nursing every 2 hours during the night (thanks to Lillie's under developed digestive system)
*I don't correct my kids English as often as I probably should because I think it is so friggin cute!
* There are night where we have cereal for dinner
*Every once in a while bedtime rolls around and I realize my kids are STILL in their jammies
*When we go out, we all have to be done up, dressed, hair done teeth brushed (I admit, I refuse to be one of those moms who looks like they can't handle the amount of kids they have. Going places looking like they haven't been cared for in days. I am obsessed with making sure that DOES NOT happen. Everytime we get pregnant I make a vow to myself to NOT be that way. )

Well, so there you have it. If you actually read all that I give you props. It was more of a ranting huh? LOL
My life is insanely busy and I LOVE it! I am for the most part, pretty dang put together but I am publicly admitting those things I let slip- now and then :) It always makes for a good luagh and frankly, blogs are more interesting when reality is in :)

Oquirrh Mtn Temple Open House

What an awesome experience to get to take our kids through the temple. We are so blesssed to live so close to so many temples. It was absolutely beautiful. The kids were taking in everything. They loved all the pictures and paintings of Christ.

Date night at the Drive In

It isn't very often that James and I get to go out on dates. But occasionally I like to surprise him and save up for us to do something fun. We are freaks for Transformers, so I HAD to go opening weekend. I thought the drive in would be so much fun. Well let me inform you now, DO NOT SEE IT AT A DRIVE IN. It was so hard to follow with the screen so far away. The people smoking next to us and the truck lights shining into our car. grrr. Did I mention Lillie was with us too? Ya, not so much fun with the smoke. We still had fun and the movie was AWESOME! But I need to see it again in comfy seats and killer surround sound.
Of course I had to take some picts with my phone!

The kids have been beggin for months to go to the zoo. I seriously think they could go every single day and not get bored. SO off we went on Friday. It was tons of fun. The kids had a blast! Even Lillie was fascinated by everything.

Those who know me know that I am all about the summer weather! I would skip winter if I could talk my hubbs into movin South! :D
I am hoping I pass that gene to my kids. LOL
I don't care if it's 100 degrees I will still go outside and play.
We had a blast spending a few hours at the kids cousins' house. Playin in a little pool and slip n slidin. The kids were in heaven!
And while Cherry and Damon got burned, and I got an even WORSE farmers tan, Lillie hung out in the shade workin on her paleness and talkin to the birds in the tree!
Summer time indeed~

Fathers Day (better late than never right?)

I did horrible and didn't actually get ANY pictures with daddy on fathers day! But that's ok right? I have none from Mother Day either :) I feel a father and kids photo shoot coming. hee hee He will be SO excited! LOL!
But here are the kids making a banner for daddy's day. Even Lill's!
