Prayers and Gratitude

Prayers-
I believe in them.
Whole heartedly.
And I am asking for yours for my mother.
This afternoon she was in Park City and a car swerved into her lane.  Which she swerved to avoid him and as a result her car went rolling off the road.  According to the tow guy- the car was upside down and turned inside out. Completely demolished. Yet somehow this mother of mine, who is a beast (in the amazing kind of way), managed to crawl out to safety when smelled gas.
The extent of her injuries were enough that they sent her from the hospital there to IMC.
A long night pursued of slow updates, prayers, and lots of worrying.
Her ankle broke in 3 places.  Badly enough that her bone was/is sticking out about 3 inches out of her leg. She is currently in surgery getting it cleaned out and fixed with pins and plates. At least a 2 hour surgery.
Her right hand fractured in 3 places.  They haven't said what will be done with that yet.
Her neck is broken.  By some miracle it is just above her spinal chord and just above where she had previous surgery.  As of initial looks, they are thinking just a brace.
I won't lie. This scared the HELL out of me. I am not ready to have these types of things happen to my beloved family members. And especially not her.  I am selfish I know, but i need my mommy here always.  I talk to her almost every day. And I am so grateful for our friendship.
So please pray for her.
She is in SO much pain.  This woman knows pain, and she has the highest pain tolerance I have ever seen.  So the fact that laying in a bed and she was crying from it, says a lot.
Pray for recovery, and health, and that nothing else wrong shows up from her horrific accident.

Gratitude
It's amazing how something like this puts life back into perspective.
Shows you what you should truly be grateful for.
and what should truly be priority in your life.
I am reminded tonight of gratitude.
I am grateful for so many things.
For angels,
For God,
For mercy,
For friends,
But mostly, I am grateful for my family.
That no matter what life throws at us,
we always pull together.
That's what eternal families are for.
And how they should be.
And I could not be in a better family.
I love every single one of you,
and am truly grateful for you.
Mom, I am especially grateful for you. For so many reasons. For how much love and compassion you show me. For all your help and advice you freely give me.  For the example you set for me.  For being amazing and for giving of your time and talents so easily.  For being the best Grandma and  adoring all your grandchildren the way you do.  For supporting me and always encouraging me.
I love you SO much.
I am praying for your speedy recovery and praying you are pain free soon.

Thanks for sharing some of the details. I've just heard bits and pieces here and there. Your mom is absolutly amazing. Give her a hug for me and let her know that my love and prayers are with her...and your whole family.
